We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing several structures and facilties at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows.

This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently. The Maintenance Worker will play a vital role in ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and longevity of assets through routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery, plumbing, some basic HVAC, and structural components.
• Trouble shoots and repairs equipment as needed.
• Paints interior/exterior of Shrine facilities as needed.
• Repairs/replaces water and plumbing fixtures throughout the property.
• Performs various masonry tasks (sidewalks, aggregate, travertine, etc.) for maintenance and/or renovation purposes.
• Performs carpentry tasks in the repair, replacement and/or renovation of Shrine facilities and new structures.
• Performs basic maintenance on furnaces such as filter, batteries, etc.
• Repairs and replaces roofing, flashing and gutters.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols during all maintenance activities.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for reporting purposes.

• Requirements
• Proven experience with facilities maintenance in manufacturing or residential settings.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics and technical diagrams.
• Proficiency in welding techniques and residential painting is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively document work and collaborate with team members.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy equipment, working at heights, or in confined spaces as necessary.
